A Strategic Partnership Across Every Phase

Our multidisciplinary team supports project teams through every stage of a project. From early design conversations through commissioning, handover, and post-installation support.

Our approach is shaped by two decades of projects across diverse market sectors including healthcare, education, civic, commercial, hospitality, and cultural spaces.

CDm2’s specialists in sales, design, controls systems, applications engineering and operations work alongside architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, distributors and owners to:

  • Introduce products and application solutions during early design
  • Collaborate on lighting concepts and validate them through photometric analysis, renderings, and sample reviews
  • Prepare specification budgets through design development
  • Contribute technical product drawings and final specifications to the construction set
  • Issue bid quotations based on a full bill of material
  • Coordinate with contractors and distributors through procurement and order management
  • Commission, program, train, and handover on site
  • Provide ongoing technical support after the system is live

Our Approach

  • Schematic Design

We introduce products and application solutions that help designers shape lighting concepts in early design.

  • Design Development

As concepts become a realizable design, we support the team with photometric analysis, renderings, sample reviews, mock-ups, and specification budgets.

  • Construction Documents

We contribute technical product drawings, final specifications, and confirmed budgets to the construction set issued for tender.

  • Bid & Procurement

We issue bid quotations based on a full bill of material, work with contractors and distributors through procurement, and manage the order cycle through to site.

  • Commissioning & Handover

Our controls and technical services team is on site to commission, program, train, and handover.

Technical Services

Photometric Analysis

Photometric studies validate a lighting concept against performance targets and applicable standards. We prepare analyses during design development so the project team can confirm the specified approach will meet required light levels, uniformity, and quality before specifications are locked.

Renderings & Visualization

Lighting decisions are easier to make when you can see them. We work with design teams to develop and review renderings and 3D visualizations that resolve aesthetic, performance, and coordination questions before specifications are finalized. On more complex projects, we support physical mock-ups with project-appropriate products to validate constructability in real conditions.

Specification Budgets

Specification budgets are prepared at key milestones through design development and updated as the design advances. This is how project teams assess whether the direction being developed aligns with budget while design options are still open.

On-Site Commissioning, Programming & Training

Our controls and technical services team works directly on site with electrical contractors, end users, and facility maintenance teams for pre-wiring reviews, system commissioning, controls programming, and user training. A commissioned system that is understood by the people using it is how a project is fully realized.
